Why Do We Have a Missed Appointment Policy?

Our practice understands that unforeseen circumstances may arise, making it impossible for patients to keep their appointments. However, missed appointments and late cancellations not only affect our ability to provide prompt care but also result in lost opportunities for other patients who may require urgent attention.

By having a missed appointment policy in place, we strive to maintain an optimal scheduling system that accommodates as many patients as possible while minimizing disruptions caused by last-minute cancellations or no-shows.

Missed Appointment and Late Cancellation Charges

In order to manage our schedule effectively and ensure that our patients receive timely care, Grim Harley, MD applies the following fees for missed appointments and late cancellations:

Missed Appointment Charge

If a patient fails to show up for their scheduled appointment without giving any prior notice, a missed appointment charge of $50 will be applied. This charge helps offset the costs associated with the reserved time and resources.

Late Cancellation Charge

Patients who cancel their appointments within 24 hours of the scheduled time are considered late cancellations. A late cancellation charge of $30 will be applied to help compensate for the lost opportunity to offer the appointment to another patient in need.

Exceptions

While we understand that emergencies and unforeseen events happen, at Grim Harley, MD, we kindly request our valued patients to provide adequate notice for any cancellations or rescheduling requests.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please contact our office at least 24 hours in advance. We will do our best to find you an alternative appointment time that suits your needs and accommodates our schedule.

Policy Enforcement

We kindly request all patients to respect our missed appointment policy and understand that it enables us to provide efficient care to all those who seek our services. Payment of missed appointment and late cancellation charges is expected within 14 days from the date of the missed appointment. Failure to settle outstanding charges may result in restrictions or refusal to schedule future appointments.
